i love it when you're mad cause you give me your time

Hello everyone!

It's almost the end of the week! It just seems to fly by these days.

This is a bit of a late post (surprise surprise, I'm sorry!) as I wore this on Tuesday. Yes, the weather in England is still ridiculously up and down. For this reason, I decided to layer a blouse over a basic vest dress. I also wore my vintage cardigan (which I absolutely LOVE) in case the weather suddenly turned chilly. I didn't need it in the end - it was so warm that I left college, sunbathed in my garden and got burnt! Good times :)

Luckily for me I managed to get on the guestlist to see The Subways at a local venue last night! I tweeted them to see if they could get me on, and it turned out that they could :D... I have seen them live before and knew that they are sooo good live, and they didn't disappoint. If you haven't heard them I definitely recommend you check them out, and you HAVE to go and see them live if you ever have the chance.

P.S - STILL need to replace my camera lens! :/

cause i want to take the pleasure with the pain.

Hello Everyone :)

I really have NO idea what's going on with this weather. I woke up and it was rainy, cloudy, windy and grey. So, I thought it was the perfect chance to wear a long sleeve blouse, as I still have a few from charity shopping that I haven't worn yet. I figured that it would be ok to wear this wintery skirt with tights and boots, seeing as the weather was wintery.

Oh, how wrong I was. Come lunch time, it was so hot! I was not very comfotable in this outfit at all :(. It's ok though, because me and Nicole went to Costa for a Red Berry Fruit Cooler (mmmm) and also found some amazing embellished dresses in the charity shop for £2.50. They were actually dresses that you wear to Indian weddings and stuff, but we sewed the splits up at the sides when we got back to college, et voila, embellished shirt dress for such little money! I will post a picture soon :)

Blouse - Vintage
Skirt - F21
Boots & Sunglasses - Ebay
Bag- Jane Shilton (thrifted)

So yes, I was feeling very 80s today I guess, The hair definitely helps, in combination with the black and blue.

Not much to say again today, I have 2 weeks to make a skirt and blouse and I need to get on it!

Thanks for everything

P.S - totally have 2 scratches on my camera lens, which i need to replace :/ sorry!

come on over and do the twist

Hello dears :)

So, these are the shorts that I got from the charity shop for £2.55. I looove them so much, but I don't think they look that good in these photos! I don't know why, they just look better in real life. Nevermind :)

I decided to dress them down for college today, with my band tee (The Subways), hat and leopard wedges. I like how it turned out, it's definitely a very "me" look.

I'm glad I found these shorts because I was thinking of getting some lilac skinny jeans that I saw online but I didn't really want to spend the money on them - these shorts are a good enough alternative for me!

I am also thinking of dressing them up with a blouse and clutch for a night out, probably with my black velvet wedges too.

Thank you so much for EVERYTHING!

Love,

Harriet xxx

I just say geeky things, like I love the way Scott Walker sings

Hello my dears!

How are you all? I hope your Monday hasn't been too bad. I had a pretty busy day at college and there is a lot of work that I need to (try) and do tonight, so I'll keep it short :).

I decided to wear my hair up today. I don't really like it up, but my fringe is getting long (i'm going to trim it tonight) and for some reason when my fringe is long, my hair feels better up. I don't know why haha. I put this black lace in it to make it a bit more interesting.

I always feel too girly when I wear my hair like this, so I decided that I needed to wear something a bit more edgy to even it out.

I'm wearing another Frankie & The Heartstrings tee (It says "I love the way Scott Walker Sings". It's a lyric from their song Photograph, check it out here) It was a men's tee and pretty big for me, So i decided to crop it super short. I wore this lace vest underneath and added my leather shorts. I always love a leather and lace combination :). I added my fake doc martens and I was done!

Oh, I got the cutest shorts in the charity shop today! I wasn't planning on buying anything but I had to. They are lilac denim, high waisted and frayed at the edges. They were only £2.55!! They are so cute and I may wear them tomorrow :)

Well, I hope you like my look! Thanks so much for everyone who comments, follows etc <3

Highbury College Fashion Show

Hello guyssss!

For our college course, we have to make an item from recycled clothing, and it has to include at least 2 techniques that we have learnt on our course. This is things like patchwork, quilting, embroidery etc.

Yesterday we had a little fashion show in our city centre, and we had to walk down the catwalk wearing our recycled items. It was a little bit nerve racking as I have no experience whatsoever in this sort of thing, but it was kinda fun!

Naturally, I was wearing Nicole's item, and she was wearing mine!

Nicole customised a dress/tunic from New Look. She added a collar made from batik, pencil sharpening bows (stuck on with bonda web) Fabric flowers, a big lace bow and netting. I absolutely love it and think it's really creative! I am excited to wear it again in our next college fashion show actually :D

I am not so original/creative, though. I cut jeans into shorts, added leather and floral patchwork, embroidery (you can't really see it in the photos though) sewed on sequins and made a fabric flower. I also cut a matching crop top and added a fabric flower and more patchwork. I don't think the photos do it much justice though, because Nicole looked so awesome! (she does in the photos anyway but you know what I mean..)

Also, this is what I wore on the day. Don't you love the lace that Nicole put in my hair to match the bow on her dress? :)

Please don't forget to check out my shop! (Link in the side bar) I hope to add items soon! I'm just so busy. (Annebeth, if you're reading this i will send you the photos SOON i promise!)

Jan, Feb, March - Round up!

Hello Everyone!

Firstly, please could you all do me a big favour and go follow my shop? You can find the link in the sidebar (Shop my wardrobe) or go HERE. Thanks dears!

I decided that I was going to do a round up of the first half of the year. Then I realised that really, I should do that at the end of June because that would make more sense.... So instead, I decided to do a round up of the first quarter of the year - that being, January to March. I don't have any new outfits to post, so I figured that I may as well post these!

I present to you, my favourite outfits from January, February and March! Let me know which ones are your faves :).

January

1. People said that you were easily led.

My most faved photo on chictopia with 47 faves! I couldn't believe it :)
The trousers were a christmas present from my sister, and the cape and gloves were a christmas present from Nicole.

I love these trousers so much but they are a little big for me now and it's really annoying. Anyone interested? teehee x

A definite highlight of January - when me and Nicole went to meet Angie in London! It was the best (and coldest!) day ever :) I really hope to meet her again soon! x

February

This is one of my fave outfits ever. I got this shirt in shoreditch market (whilst meeting Angie) for 2.99 and I love it so much! I don't know why I don't wear it more actually. These shorts are also a favourite item of mine :).

Leather Shorts - Topshop
Hat - H&M
Boots - Ebay
Tights - Primark

Yet another favourite item of mine, also bought in London with Angie and Nicole! I simple adore this dress, and I knew I had to buy it when I saw it in the Dahlia boutique.

The dress had sold out on the website which I was REALLY bummed about. I saw it in the boutique, it was the last one, it was my size and there was 20% off. Of course I had to buy it! And I am so glad I did. It's one of the prettiest items I own. :) I was so excited to pair it with my mum's beautiful vintage swing coat too.
